Those who know me will know I am proudly Turkish and when the opportunity to collaborate with the Turkish shoemakers Çarıkçım came up, I was instantly excited. YEGÂNE, which means ‘unique’ in English, was my instant favourite – although there are so many different styles you’d be spoilt for choice.
These traditional leather shoes –Çarık – are handcrafted in Turkey. Çarıkçım’s tagline is “If shoes are geography, Çarık is Anatolia (Asia Minor). If you want a genuinely Turkish pair of shoes which will accompany you on any journey, I’d say check out Çarıkçım.
On date night with the Hubby last Saturday, I went for a casual look pairing my brand new shoes with equally brand new cropped jeans I had been eyeing for a while – this pair is from Next and is as comfortable as it is stylish. I had been looking for a deconstructed pinstripe shirt for a while and I found the perfect one at Poppy Apparel – they have a few different styles too and at such affordable prices. I opted for matchy matchy accessories with this backpack I rescued from a pop-up shop in Istanbul during a fly-by visit last month – at just TL79 it would have been rude not to! – and pink ’70s shades I scored on Portobello Road in April.
