Eat Street comes to Middleton

A fun afternoon of Milton Keynes street food al fresco

Eat Street’s pop up street food in Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes every first Friday of the month has been a highlight of MK foodies’ calendar for a while now. Having been to a few foodie events in MK in the pre-pandemic days and also having experienced MK Food Fest, we were delighted to hear Milton Keynes Village Hall in Middleton, just a five-minute drive for us, was announced as the second venue in MK.

Friday 17 June delivered not just in servings of fab street food from local vendors ranging from Mexican to Middle Eastern but also in glorious summer weather too as the hottest day of the year to date.

We got to the venue around 5:00 which proved a wise move as queues for food trucks started building up soon after; with the queue for the pavillion bar equally long we opted for non-alcoholic drinks.

Torn between Argentinian wraps, Italian pizza and Middle Eastern lamb, I reverted to type and opted for lashings of lamb served over a bed of chips with feta cheese crumbles, tahini and harisa sauce. Yummy! Mr. O of course, opted for his usual – a burger.

It was by chance we bumped into a couple of friends which may the evening more fun. With music, good food, and great weather, Eat Street really felt like the first real summer event of the year in Milton Keynes.

And literally everyone and their dogs (and kids!) seemed to be there to eat, drink and make merry on a gorgeous summer evening, picnic blankets and sun hats at the ready!

For their next event, they are back at York House Centre in Stony Stratford on 1 July. Give them a follow on Facebook to find out in the next few weeks which vendors will be there on the day.
